Botox (botulinum toxin) reduces the activity of the muscle in the area it is injected, so it helps soften the lines caused by muscle movement.
Many lines form because we move our faces the same way every day, on the forehead, between the brows, and at the corners of the eyes. Botox is well suited to these lines, and in some techniques it is also used to help refine the shape of the face and reduce the pull of certain muscles.
How long does Botox last?
In general, Botox results tend to last about 3-4 months, but how long you see the effect can vary from person to person. It depends on the area treated, the amount used, how active the muscle is, and how each body responds.

How should you care for yourself after?
After treatment, follow your doctor's advice closely. In general it is recommended to:
- Avoid massaging, rubbing or pressing the treated area
- Avoid strenuous effort or activities that overheat the body in the first period, as your doctor advises
- Carry on with daily life as normal, but avoid touching or rubbing the treated area firmly
- Mild swelling, redness or slight bruising at the injection site can occur and usually eases gradually
When to see a doctor promptly
If you notice anything unusual, such as significant muscle weakness, drooping eyelids, changes in vision, or difficulty swallowing or breathing, see a doctor right away.
Results and how long the effect lasts vary from person to person. Every treatment should be assessed by a doctor beforehand.
Frequently asked
How soon will I see results?
Most people begin to see changes within a few days to about two weeks, and this varies from person to person. The clinic will arrange a follow-up and give advice suited to you.
When should I have it done again?
When the effect starts to fade and the muscle becomes more active, many people choose to repeat treatment around the 3-4 month mark, but this should be assessed by your doctor based on your skin and muscles.
